The Château de Rigny-Ussé

The Château de Rigny-Ussé, often nicknamed the “Sleeping Beauty Castle“, is a real fairytale! Situated just a few kilometres from Luynes, this 15th-century château is famous for its romantic architecture and enchanting gardens. When you visit the château, you can explore its sumptuously decorated rooms, which will immerse you in the history and legend of Sleeping Beauty. The formal gardens, with their flowerbeds and shady paths, are perfect for a relaxing stroll. Don’t forget to take photos, as the castle is particularly photogenic, especially at sunset!

Near the château, the Forêt de Chinon is a haven of peace for nature lovers. With its signposted footpaths, it’s the ideal place to go for a walk, cycle or even have a picnic in the heart of nature. The forest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, and you may come across deer, wild boar and many birds. It’s also a place steeped in history, with remains from medieval times and magnificent views over the Loire Valley. Don’t hesitate to venture out on the footpaths to discover some breathtaking views!
